Southtown Coffee Shop — San Antonio, Texas

A coffee shop isn't just about the coffee. It's where someone meets a friend, opens a laptop, grabs their usual—or decides to stay for one more cup. This Southtown concept was about making every one of those moments feel considered.

The challenge

The space already had plenty of character, but it needed a clearer rhythm. The challenge was figuring out how ordering, seating, circulation and merchandising could work together without losing the charm that made the space interesting in the first place.

The approach

We started with how people would actually use the space—where they walk in, where they order, where they naturally want to sit and what catches their eye along the way. From there, the design layered in warm wood, earthy greens, softer curves, lighting and flexible seating to give the coffee shop its own personality. Even the merchandise wall became part of the experience rather than an afterthought. The idea was simple: make the space work harder without making it feel like it's trying too hard.
